Deloraine Junior Basketball Club

A community sporting club focused on providing excellence in Basketball.

Respect

Respect yourself, your team mates, your coach and team officials. Your spectators, family & friends. Respect the opposition and game day referrees. You may not always agree but always respect other’s rights.

Responsibility

You have a responsibility to your coach and team mates. Be on time for games and training. For yourself, bring your drink bottle, have your uniform and don’t rely on others.

Resilience

Being resilient is a character strength. Winning isn’t important, it is fun, but it is important to know how to lose. Take defeat and build on it, grow as a person, a player, a teammate. Always congratulate or thank the opposition. It isn’t the referee’s fault when things don’t go your way!

u10 Girls

There’s a reason basketball is one of the most popular sports on the planet. It’s fast, great for your fitness and – most importantly – great fun!

At Deloraine Junior Basketball Club, we are an inclusive Club, we encourage all ages and skill levels to get involved in the game.  DJBC holds a weekly junior competition, with the season running from March to August each year. Games are played on a Monday or Wednesday night, for U10 through to Year 10.

New players are welcome to join!

Once all registrations have been received, DJBC committee then place participants into teams. Age groups are traditionally U10, Primary boys and girls and High School boys and girls, although this can change based on numbers registered in each age group.

DJBC also enter representative competitions like the Mid-Winter Classics, Tasmanian Junior  JackJumpers League and State Championships.  All registered players have the opportunity to join representative teams.

** Participants are asked to wear plain black basketball shorts, with no pockets, playing tops are provided by DJBC.

If your child has never played the game before, is aged 6-7 years, is keen to learn in a fun and safe environment, we suggest our Aussie Hoops program. This program is designed for beginners and helps provide the skills and confidence to get ready for our junior competition.  If your child is too old for Aussie Hoops, we still welcome them into our weekly roster and offer skilled coaches and training sessions to enable them to learn and improve.
